Bratislava is the capital and largest metropolis of Slovakia. Bratislava is positioned in southwestern Slovakia on the foot of the Little Carpathians, occupying each banks of the River Danube and the left financial institution of the River Morava. Bratislava obtained its modern title in 1919. Until then, it was largely identified by its German title, Pressburg.
